Is it possible to edit the shape of the terrain? Make our own mountains

Was the original created with a commercial modelling programme and is the file a standard format?

I think I've found the right file (or rather 3 files) called 'Land.lnd' in Flanker2.0\Bazar\Terrain\Surface\High, Low and Medium. They're all about 4.9 megs, which seems about the right size, and presumably there's one for each level of detail.

It's mostly in binary and the crude hacking I've tried with a hex editor just makes Flanker crash when loading textures or land surface.

Has anybody else tried playing with this? It'd be great if we could make our own terrains.

If Carl is reading this, I'd appreciate it if you could tell us whether it's feasible to edit the terrain.

Thanks in anticipation.
