To promote and celebrate the upcoming release of Battlefield 1942, EA Games and Digital Illusions CE invited 46 of their closest friends aboard a floating symbol of American military resolve, the USS Hornet, to take up virtual arms against one another. Come along with us and learn of some new and never before seen maps, weapons, and information.

Thanks for the inside look, Joe.
You're right about it being addictive. I'm not one for FPS's but the 2 demo's that they
put out have snared me a few times. This could be a fun one when the full version
comes out.

I am glad the the PK can be ratcheted down for on-line play. This point has killed a
lot of on-line games in my opinion.

Er, where does it mention PK in the article?

I can't find a reference to player-killing or to probability of kill, though it may be the lack of caffeine...

This is really a fun game to play. Have put in several hours in the last week or so. The one problem I have run into so far are the tk maniacs that run around. Would really like to get into a game with Csim players.

Spectre is referencing a discussion he and I had in the discussion of the article I wrote earlier this month on BF1942. He asked the question about what steps were being taken to keep hackers and other cheater from ruining the game, and I explained about how many of the possible exploits were being tested, made public, and rectified during the beta testing period.

Thanks for reading my piece, and thanks for your comments.
