You've had IL-2 Sturmovik for some time now. You've flown all the missions, played online, and used the full mission builder. Predictably, it's all wearing a bit thin. What else is out there to renew the spark? Our Aaron “Spectre” Watson reviews the “Eastern Thunder” add-on.

Quick and maybe stupid question: is this product compatible with all patch versions of Il-2?

Good question. I believe it is compatible with all versions because it simply adds missions . . . but you know, I'm not 100 percent sure. I'll try to get either Spectre or Viking1 in here to give you the answer to that.

I did mention that I was running version 1.1 in the article, and it setup and ran very well in this environment. It has yet to be seen whether this months release of the 1.2 upgrade will be compatible, but I have confidence it will be.

I can't imagine why it would not work with 1.1.
I've actually been hoping to release an update, but instead I've been working on a second campaign for KURSK.. probably 22 missions. Will be free and available to all if I can finish it this month..
