It is always difficult to know when and how to upgrade. Do you go for the top of the line GF4 Ti4600 or can you tweak a less expensive card to get virtually the same performance? Our Len "Viking1" Hjalmarson has some sage advice on how to get more frames per second out of your favorite sim and still stay within your budget.

Len, nice piece. That sounds like a very affordable upgrade for me. But my system is a P3-850...I should probably upgrade to a new system first.
I want to give the P3-850 to my wife. What do you recommend for a good VIVO board for that system? This PC will go to the family room and may be tasked with hooking up to the Playstation 2 console to get screen shots, or to occasionally run a DVD. Its main display will probably be a small flat panel screen.

thanks for the info. Saw a gainward board ti4200 for $149. Getting there, I'm going to hold out a bit longer, thanks for letting me know the performance of the board.
