Viking1 receives numerous questions from novice air combat pilots regarding choice of aircraft, mechanics of online play, and air combat maneuvers and gunnery. Over the last six months he has addressed many of these questions through articles here, but not all of them. In this article, Viking1 will answer some common questions, suggest a useful configuration for beginners, and also discuss online scoring.

Yep. IL2 is a great game. I'm getting really humbled right now in air-to-ground gunnery.

At first, I had troubles with the game really slowing down during strafing and making it hard to play. Then I reduced resolution and detail, and it's a little better, but hitting those tanks is tough...or I'm really bad!

Len,

As always very good. Thank you very much!

It seems that soon we'll begin new sim where all the best from IL-2 will be included... But will be more advanced
At the same time we continue to support IL-2 and soon you all will see it

In real life it was also not very easy like in some games... But.... Il-2 gives you ability to learn it.... Just look for good joystic or just try to control aircraft smoothly.

As Oleg said, what you need is a really good joystick. I think I'd better leave this thread before someone takes a swipe at me

James,

No swipe, just wondering if you'll give out a free sample?
