Russo-German War '41-'44 is an innovative new division-level operational wargame covering the entire War in the East. In addition to providing a game system based on painstaking historical research, it will provide hours and hours of engrossing gameplay for even the serious grognard.

Fine review. Is it too late to give this baby a Top Pick? The courage to foeld it outweighs the interface problems.

Thanks guys.

Jim,

I consider RGW to be a fine game, but I think it misses 'Top Pick' status by a hair for various reasons.

p.s. I haven't forgetten about our PBEM game, but between a bad cold and this review, I didn't have much time to put it together yet

I just got this game.........learning the ins and outs of it. Reminds me of a complex version of COS (Clash of Steel).

Hey C, I learned it by going through the tutorial in the back of the manual and then replaying that Crimea scenario over and over (I think I played it about 4 times over a weekend). It's a good scenario to learn from since it's small and has air and naval units to play with.

I'm now working on the Smolensk '41 scenario. That one has got a LOT more units to work with, but it's pretty interesting.

Just read the interview. Good job! I like Dockal's no-nonsense approach. He is providing great support for RGW.
