Forgive me. I was a jaded, burned out posterboy for the dangers of flight simulation overdose; a lost soul indeed. When shown some of the paradigm-squishing juggernauts that will be unleashed on the desktop simulation world later this year, however, I became a wide-eyed, slack-jawed believer once again. Halleluiah!

Thanks for the interesting read. Did you stop by WWIIOL whilst you were there?

Welcome Back Groucho! And thanx for the breath of fresh air! I myself have expressed the opinion that the exodus of the "big boyz" from flight sims wouldn't be ALL bad. But every time I do, it seems I get shouted down. I'm a big believer in the "Silver Lining" theory, and I personally believe that the vacuum created by the current console craze will be filled by companies who are as passionate about flight simming as we are, and who are not so constrained by the "bean counters" as the big boyz were. I hope anyway! Seeya! flybri out.

Thanks for the feedback guys! It felt good to write this piece...long time no rant! No...didn't check out WWIIOL. I live in the boonies, you see, and since the phone service is actually only one step removed from two soup cans with a taut string between them (and no DSL even near the horizon), I've opted for a two-way VSAT satellite broadband connection. Problem is, the lag of the signal going to geosynchronous orbit and back makes for a king-hell latency situation. That makes online gaming a no-go. But...there were a LOT of kewl stuff there!
