In Part II we looked at weapons and targeting, damage models and mission flow. This time we look at combat engagements and the campaign structure.

Looks nice, but I'd like more info on the campaign structure and its comparisons to EF2000/TAW/WARGEN. Is there an AWACS interface as there was in TAW, for instance?

Negative, negative, do NOT lock target and fire.

This game is a simplified TAW. The AI is improved, and the campaign is actually more accurate (resource modeling), but there is no AWACS, targeting is simplified, no EMCON. Watch for more...

If I had to choose one, I would say "totally different."

I mean.. the similarities lead one to make comparisons, but it really is tough to do so. Typhoon is innovative. Think about it.. no single mission mode. No training missions. No dogfight mode. Can't frag your own missions. The campaign is everything.
