silverstone-raven-rv05-rotated-pc-caseAuthor: Steve Lynch @ HARDOCP

The SilverStone Raven series of cases long ago broke the mold when it comes to “normal” computer chassis. Its design execution has always been good and the Ravens’ airflow characteristics are excellent. Today SilverStone pushes the new Raven RV05 out there a little bit further in terms of design and function.

phanteks-enthoo-pro-fulltower-caseBy Steven Kean @ Legit Reviews

Legit Reviews did not take a look at the Phanteks Enthoo Primo Full-Tower case, but the popularity of Phanteks is growing and we decided that now is the perfect time to see what Phanteks has to offer when it comes to PC cases. The Enthoo Primo ($239.99 shipped) was Phanteks first entry into the crowded case market, and it caused quite a splash in the higher end Full-Tower case market. It included nearly everything enthusiasts need in a case with multiple liquid cooling options. Their latest case, the Enthoo Pro is another full tower case, which takes many of the features from the Enthoo Primo at a fraction of the original price.

rosewill-capstone-1000w-psuBy crmaris @ techPowerUp!

Rosewill built up a solid reputation over the last few years, especially for PSUs, where things are tough because of the strong competition. In this review, we will evaluate the Capstone series’ flagship model. It features 1 kW capacity, a semi-modular design, and a nice price tag. Our expectations are high because the unit is based on a Super Flower platform.

historical-article-get-yamamoto-logoAllied Code Breakers and their hunt for Admiral Yamamoto

By John Dudek @ The Wargamer

Following the complete Japanese military defeat and evacuation during the bloody seven month long Battle of Guadalcanal in February 1943, Admiral Yamamoto scheduled a morale building inspection tour of a number of the Japanese occupied island bases of the northern Solomon Islands.  He’d be traveling by plane and his itinerary was worked out well in advance.  This was broadcasted to the respective island commands.  US code breakers received and read the information before sending it all the way up the chain of command. US President Roosevelt, upon hearing of the information had but two words to say to his Secretary of the Navy Frank Knox.  “Get Yamamoto!”

A new trailer for Rainbow Six: Siege shows off the game’s tactically destructible environments.

Set for release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC in 2015, Siege is described as a co-op multiplayer-focused game in which hostage-taking criminals have the means to transform their environments into strongholds, while Rainbow Six teams lead assaults to breach them.

Ubisoft announced the latest entry in the Rainbow Six series during its E3 2014 stage show in June.

Producer Sebastien Labbe has hinted that the studio may launch a Rainbow Six: Siege beta ahead of the game’s release next year:

“What I can say is that for sure, we’re no different from the other online shooters. We want to be online – we’re providing a strong PVP game, and if we want that we need to create a community. So if we wait until the launch, I expect it will be too late.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot explained the difficult decision to transform the long-delayed Rainbow Six: Patriots into Siege in an E3 interview.

This video demonstrates even Ubisoft’s “chief parkour officer” cannot navigate walls as shown in Assassin’s Creed games, though it does show the way the acrobatics in Assassin’s Creed Unity will be modeled on real-life action. Word is:

“Meet Michael ‘Frosti’ Zernow, Ubisoft’s first Chief Parkour Officer. Starting with Assassin’s Creed Unity, Zernow will serve as an adviser to the franchise, helping the developers ensure the parkour mechanics are as authentic and accurate as possible. In addition to assisting with game accuracy, Zernow and his team of coaches at Tempest Freerunning have helped us design a special parkour course for San Diego Comic Con. Meet Zernow and get your first look at the Assassin’s Creed Experience in the video below.”

Buzz Aldrin’s Space Program Manager gets release date.

“But why, some say, the Moon? Why choose this as our goal? And they may well ask, why climb the highest mountain? Why, 35 years ago, fly the Atlantic? ” – US President John F. Kennedy ; 1962.

On July 20th 1969, the Apollo 11 mission successfully landed. For the first time in history, human beings walked on the Moon. The conquest of space that had started a few years after the end of WWII reached its climax with a manned lunar landing. In competition with the USSR, the US gained a decisive advantage when images of Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and their lunar exploration module were broadcast on live TV all over the world from the Sea of Tranquillity. President Kennedy won his historic gamble by landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth before the end of the decade. A whole new era of space conquests was opened…

45 years after this extraordinary technological achievement, the Apollo 11 images still evoke strong emotions. Today, Slitherine and Polar Motion – developer of Buzz Aldrin’s Space Program Manager – commemorate this anniversary by releasing a tribute video to allow everyone to relive the Lunar landing and officially announce the game’s final release date: October 31st 2014.

In Buzz Aldrin’s Space Program Manager, you will be able to play a critical role in the space exploration programs and the race for dominance between the US and the Soviet Union in space. They will have to choose their side and run a space agency with only one goal in mind: be the first to the Moon! By managing their budget, opening programs, spending R&D funds on improving the hardware, recruiting personnel and astronauts and launching space missions, they will live an engaging and challenging space odyssey in this realistic turn based strategy game.

Buzz Aldrin’s Space Program Manager is currently available as an Early Access Program, which will be closed on August 10th 2014. After that, the game will only be available after the release date. Be sure to sign up if you want to be part of the last leg of its development!
